'Poetry, self-erasure & the trace'

Peer-reviewed academic article in AXON: Creative Explorations 12:2. Examines creative approaches to personal archives, tracing a poetics of anorexia under erasure. This essay presents a poetic life writing practice developed through material exploration with diaries, to expose hidden, unwritten traces of anorexic experience that escape the archival page.

I devised and edited this collection of personal essays, marking the 50th anniversary of journalism education at RMIT University. Published by the Bowen Street Press. Including my preface essay 'Fact, Image and Anecdote'.

'Journalists & the death knock'
2024 // read here
Peer-reviewed academic article co-written with journalism practice researcher Alysson Watson, 'Journalists and the "death knock": how reflection can inform practice' will be published in Journal of Applied Journalism and Media Studies 15(3) in February 2024.
The article analyses the findings of Watson's survey of journalists' experience of the 'death knock' and proposes such journalism practice involves professional reflection, through which cultural change can shift newsroom practices. ​
